EducationRoyal Collection Education is responsible for the development and delivery of educational resources and programmes for schools, family groups and adults visiting Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The aim is to enhance understanding of the role of the Monarchy, the history of the royal palaces and residences, and of the works of art in the Royal Collection.Informal-learning materials include audio tours and activity trails, designed to be enjoyed by children and adults together. For pupils and teachers, resources are created in response to the English and Welsh National Curriculum, Scottish National Curriculum Guidelines and other learning programmes, and are tailor-made to meet the needs of each group. Dedicated education space is available at each site for a wide range of activities, from object-based handling sessions for children to short courses for adults. The Education team organise regular events for teachers, providing an opportunity to discuss ideas for cross-curricular activities.
